CMU Signed MoU and Held Joint Symposium with Yonsei University (YU)

On September 6th, CMU delegates attended the CMU-YU Joint Symposium and signed MoU with YU. Dean Liang-Yo Yang, Professor Hung-Rong Yen, Professor Kou-Juey Wu, Professor Allen Hsu, and Professor Ro-Ting Lin were warmly welcomed by the dean of the college of Medicine Yangsoo Jang, and associate dean Jae-Woo Kim.


Yonsei University is a private research university in Seoul, South Korea. It is one of Korea's three SKY universities (an acronym for Seoul National University, Korea University and Yonsei University), and is considered the most prestigious in the country. Yonsei University was established in 1885 and is one of the oldest universities in South Korea. It is ranked the 107th in QS World University Rankings.


The CMU delegates signed the MoU in order to strengthen the collaboration between the faculty and students of the two universities. During the visit, the first CMU-YN Joint Symposium was held. Delegates from the two universities had a thorough discussion on cancer, aging, and stem cell. Both CMU and YU agreed to hold joint symposium annually to enhance the academic cooperation. Next year, the second CMU-YN Joint Symposium will be held by CMU at Taichung, Taiwan.
