CMU Vice President Cheng-Chieh Lin Was Invited to Throw a Keynote Speech on CCGI 2018

 The 7th Chinese Congress on Gerontology and Health Industry (CCGI 2018) was hosted by China Health Promotion Foundation and Chinese Association for Gerontology and Health Services from August 31 to September 2, 2018, in Jinan City, Shandong Province, China. The theme this year was “Promoting Elderly Health and Developing Combined Medical and Care Services for the Elderly”

In order to pay high attention to the main issues confronted by the development of gerontology and health industry in China, and to promote the development of modern gerontology and elderly people’s health medical treatment as well as relevant industries in China, China Health Promotion Foundation and other institutions will jointly host Chinese Congress on Gerontology and Health Industry, aiming to create a better communication platform for geriatricians and gerontologists home and abroad and to bring benefits to the elderly people.  

Almost 3000 entrepreneurs, researchers, social workers, and experts from all over the world were invited to the event, including Professor Cheng-Chieh Lin, Vice president of CMU; Professor Kira Fortune from Pan American Health Organization; Sarah Haper, Co-Director of the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing; S. Michal Jazwinski, Director of Tulane Center for Aging; and Professor Wu Dan Xing, from China National Civil Affairs Department Pension Service Industry Expert Committee.

During the conference, Professor Cheng-Chieh Lin discussed on the method, outcome, and difficulties of the senior healthcare of Taiwan. He also shared the innovative ways of preventing elderlies from asthenia and dementia; Professor Kira Fortune shared both the regional and global strategies of how WHO works on realizing the fairness of healthcare; Professor S. Michal Jazwinski focused on the genetic risk of asthenia, and the research findings of metabolic derivative; Professor Wu Dan Xing talked about China’s endeavor on senior healthcare and nursing.

Moreover, Professor Cheng-Chieh Lin will also host the 2019 IAGG Asia Oceania Regional Congress starting from October 24th to 27th in Taiwan. Experts and researchers from Taiwan will join the important event that is held once every four years.
